Industry News: Salesforce and Geneia announces app for population health and value-based care.

With the negativity surrounding the topic of healthcare in the U.S., it’s always nice to hear about something innovative that helps improve what some claim to be a broken system. Companies like Salesforce can change the outlook on that by integrating its products  with health care systems to provide a completely different experience, and a positive one at that.

Salesforce continues to build momentum in the healthcare industry as they work alongside with analytics specialist Geneia to unveil its newest app for population health and value-based care. Together they have built a tool, which they announced at Dreamforce last month in San Francisco.

The innovative tool combines Geneia’s Theon analytics with some of the best features of the Salesforce Health Cloud including communication services and workflow for hospitals, health plans and even employers. Geneia says health care providers can use the new app to better manage population health and value-based initiatives which would include pinpointing gaps in care to increase Medicare star ratings, lowering the amount of inpatient and emergency department admissions, and even reducing the cost on claims.
